Fear not, Southern Crux has been going to SXSW for quite some time now badgeless and know just how to get the most out of the SXSW experience and we’re going to share that with you!
Some of our favorite events are held outside of the interior that is SXSW. Major events are going down at Auditorium Shores and Waterloo Records for those of you who are either under 21 or are just looking for some free great entertainment away from the crowds over on 6th street. But don’t be confused, there will still be crowds so prepare to head to either location early to scout out a great seat or standing area. Make sure to check the official pages through the links above to see what you can and cannot bring to the events.
Auditorium Shores is a great places to catch a show and chill on the hill, it’s family friendly, and dog friendly. It’s walking distance from 6th street but we recommend using a Ped-Cab, or taking a shuttle bus. Some previous acts have been, The Strokes, Spoon and Explosions in the Sky. This year the stage will be host to, The Cult as well as The Counting Crows and stay tuned to see who the 3rd headliner will be! You can head on over to Waterloo Records Wednesday March 14th- Sunday March 17th to catch acts like Fun, Nada Surf and Gary Clark Jr. The Majority of the shows will be held outside at their stage on the corner of 6th and Lamar, however some shows will be held inside, where capacity could pose an issue.
